If this is  your first time volunteering in the Hamilton School District, you must fill out a Volunteer  Application Form. 

Volunteer Liaison: The Volunteer Liaison is a PTO Board position that plays an important role in connecting families with opportunities to get involved. This person helps recruit family members to support school events, serve in coordinator roles, and assist in areas like the workroom and library. They also communicate volunteer needs to the Marcy community through the social media and newsletters, making it easy for families to find ways to participate.

Training will be provided, so no prior experience is necessary. The time commitment includes approximately 2–3 hours to create the initial volunteer schedule, with minimal ongoing maintenance throughout the year, along with attendance at monthly board meetings. This is a wonderful way to help strengthen our school community and keep families engaged!

Memory Books (Yearbook Team)
We’re looking for one or more volunteers to help create next year’s Memory Book—perfect for anyone who enjoys being creative and capturing special moments. Volunteers will help document the school year by designing and compiling pages for the yearbook, which is distributed in June.

This role can be shared, making it a fun and collaborative way to get involved. The Memory Book is a treasured keepsake for our students, and your help makes a meaningful difference in preserving these special memories.

Staff Appreciation Week Co-Coordinator: Our experienced Staff Appreciation coordinator is looking for a partner to help plan and execute a themed week of gratitude for our staff during the first week of May. With a set budget and a supportive community ready to donate, you’ll have all the tools you need to succeed. The co-coordinators will pick a theme, create handouts for staff/families & book any vendors in advance of the celebration. Then, the week of the event, they will oversee set-up / clean up or secure volunteers to help if needed.

Carnival Committee Members: The Marcy Carnival is one of our most loved traditions—and it takes a team of parent volunteers to make it happen! Many of our current Carnival Committee members are in their final year of organizing, and we are looking for new parents to join us this year to learn the ropes. This is a perfect opportunity to get involved, meet other families, and help ensure the Carnival continues for years to come. You’ll work alongside experienced committee members this year, so you’ll be fully supported as you learn how the event comes together. **We are especially looking for parents interested in helping with: Event planning & logistics, Sponsorships & donations, Games & activities, Food & concessions, and Decorations & set up/clean-up. Recurring Daytime Volunteer Opportunities

Workroom: Workroom volunteers head to the workroom and look for teacher's baskets with jobs to be completed.  Jobs can range from copying and sorting, to paper cutting, tracing or project prep for some of our younger kiddo's classes.  This is a huge help to our teachers and allows them to spend more of their time focusing on their students. Library Helpers: Volunteers are needed in the library for 1st-3rd graders during their LTL class and checkout times. When volunteers are not helping students find books to check out, we would ask them to be a “second set of hands” for certain class activities or to help us with a variety of operational/day-to-day needs in the library. A variety of 45 minute slots are available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Signup links will come out during the Fall.
